CaricatureMe ("the App") is developed by Futuron Inc. This policy explains how information is handled when you use the App.
Photos and Text You Choose to Send
When you ask CaricatureMe to create an image, the App sends your selected photo — which may be a photo of you or another person — together with your selected scene, job, personality choices, art style, and any custom note. Only submit a photo of another person when you have their permission.
The request is sent over HTTPS to our Cloudflare Worker proxy and then to OpenAI's image generation service. Cloudflare processes the request to secure, validate, and forward it. OpenAI processes the photo and text to generate the requested caricature. Futuron does not use these photos or prompts for advertising and does not sell them.
AI and Infrastructure Providers
- Cloudflare: operates the secure proxy that receives, validates, rate-limits, and forwards generation requests.
- OpenAI: receives the selected photo and customization text and generates the resulting image.
OpenAI's handling of submitted data is governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy and applicable API data controls. Cloudflare's handling of request data is governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Abuse Prevention and Rate Limiting
Current App versions create a random, app-scoped install identifier for rate limiting. The identifier is not an advertising identifier and is not used to track you across apps or websites. Our Cloudflare Worker hashes the identifier before using it in a rate-limit counter; the raw identifier is not stored in the counter.
For compatibility, older App versions may be rate-limited using a one-way keyed hash derived from limited request metadata such as IP address and user-agent information. Rate-limit counter records automatically expire within 48 hours. We do not use either method for advertising or user profiling.
Consent and Revocation
Before any AI request, the App explains that your selected photo and customization text will be sent through Cloudflare to OpenAI and requires your agreement. You can revoke consent at any time in Settings by turning off AI Photo Sharing. Revocation immediately blocks new AI generation requests unless and until you agree again. It does not recall a request that was already processed.
Subscriptions
CaricatureMe has no free generation tier. After onboarding, AI consent, and an entitlement check, an active paid subscription is required to access the App. Purchases and subscription status are handled by Apple. Futuron does not receive or store your full payment-card information.
Storage and Retention
Futuron does not intentionally store submitted photos, prompts, or generated images on its servers. They are held transiently while Cloudflare forwards the request and returns OpenAI's response. OpenAI may retain API data according to its then-current policies and legal obligations.
Generated caricatures and gallery information are stored locally in the App's sandbox on your device. You can delete individual images in the App or remove local App data by deleting the App. Rate-limit records expire automatically within 48 hours.
Information We Do Not Collect
- No CaricatureMe account, name, email address, or phone number is required.
- We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
- We do not sell personal information.
Children's Privacy
CaricatureMe is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian should supervise any use by a minor and must have permission before submitting another person's photo.
Security and Your Choices
Requests use HTTPS, input limits, restricted browser access, and rate limiting. No system is completely secure. You may stop future AI sharing by revoking consent, delete local images in the App, and cancel or manage your subscription through Apple.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App or its providers change. The effective date above identifies the latest version.
