CaricatureMe ("the App") is developed by Futuron Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Information We Collect
Photos/Selfies: When you take or select a photo, it is sent to our AI service provider (OpenAI) solely for the purpose of generating your caricature. We do not store your photos on our servers. Photos are transmitted securely and used only for real-time generation.
Scene & Personality Selections: Your chosen scene, job, personality tags, and custom notes are sent alongside your photo to OpenAI to create a personalized caricature. This data is not stored on our servers.
Device Identifier: We use your device's vendor identifier (identifierForVendor) for rate limiting and usage tracking. This identifier is not shared with third parties and cannot be used to track you across other apps or websites.
Usage Data: We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as which scenes are most popular and how many caricatures are generated. This data contains no personal information.
Third-Party AI Service
CaricatureMe uses OpenAI's gpt-image-1 to generate caricatures. When you create a caricature, the following data is transmitted to OpenAI's servers through our secure proxy (caricature-proxy.ccrilly.workers.dev):
- Your selfie photo
- Your selected scene, job, and personality tags
- Any custom notes you provide
This data is sent securely via HTTPS. We do not store your photos or selections on our servers — they are forwarded to OpenAI for processing and the generated image is returned to your device.
OpenAI's processing of this data is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy. OpenAI maintains data protection practices that provide the same or greater level of protection as described in this privacy policy.
In-App Consent
Before using any AI-powered features, CaricatureMe displays a disclosure screen explaining what data is sent, who receives it, and how it is protected. You must accept this disclosure before the caricature generation feature becomes available. You can revoke consent by reinstalling the app.
What We Don't Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or any personal contact information
- We do not require account creation
- We do not use advertising tracking or ad SDKs
- We do not sell any data to third parties
- We do not store your photos on any server we control
Local Storage
Your generated caricatures are stored locally on your device in the app's sandboxed storage. They are not uploaded to any server. You can delete them at any time from within the app, or by deleting the app itself.
Subscriptions
Subscription purchases are handled entirely by Apple. We do not collect or store any payment information.
Children's Privacy
The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Data Retention
All personal data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. Data sent to OpenAI for processing is subject to OpenAI's data retention policies.
Data Deletion
Since we don't store personal data on our servers, deleting the app removes all locally stored data. No server-side deletion request is necessary.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
